However, the intense heat of July restored balance, allowing us to <strong>begin grape harvesting on August 22.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\"><span lang=\"it\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; color: #242424;\">During the months of April, May, and June, winemakers had to face a feared enemy: the \u201c<strong>Peronospora<\/strong>\u201d. The experience of the winemakers was crucial in protecting the vines and ensuring that the grapes reached maturity in good condition.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\"><span lang=\"it\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; color: #242424;\"><strong>A positive note of the season is the introduction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/simonitesirch.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Simonit Sirch<\/a> pruning method in Montina\u2019s vineyards, which is beginning to show its benefits. <\/strong>This \u201cgentle\u201d technique focuses on preserving the health and longevity of the vines, minimizing wounds that could facilitate the onset of diseases such as \u201cesca\u201d. On Monday, August 26, Franciacorta was hit by a violent storm accompanied by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.giornaledibrescia.it\/cronaca\/maltempo-grandine-vigneti-franciacorta-danni-ab5tr1oj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hail<\/a>, which damaged some vineyards. <strong>Fortunately, in Montina, the harvest is still ongoing, and the damage has been contained, but the situation is being closely monitored.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: 150%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\"><span lang=\"it\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; color: #242424;\"><strong>Although production is lower compared to the bountiful <a href=\"https:\/\/montinafranciacorta.it\/vendemmia-franciacorta-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023 vintage<\/a>, the quality of the grapes<\/strong>, where not affected by fungal diseases and hail, <strong>looks promising<\/strong>.
