"Benny plays MontinA - A Franciacorta from Seria A."

On Nov. 8, the exhibition “Benny plays MontinA – A Franciacorta from Seria A” will open, which will be enjoyed by the public from the following day, Nov. 9.

Benny – born Benedetto Nicolini (Modena, 1974) – Illustrator caricaturist and painter from Modena, moved while still a child to Turin. He immediately discovered a love for pencils, which led him as a young adult to specialize at the European Institute of Design as an Illustrator.

In 1998 he then landed at the Armando Testa agency in Turin where he worked as a visualizer for seven years. He spends his days painting and mocking sportsmen, actors, and politicians, a little here and a little there, so as not to displease anyone.

He has collaborated and collaborates with major Italian and foreign newspapers and advertising publications.

He makes theater playbills for Italian comedies and participates with his caricatures in numerous national and international satirical reviews.

So far he has four major solo exhibitions held mostly in Piedmont, his fifth not surprisingly held in Franciacorta, in one of the area’s most prestigious and fascinating wineries.

Benny’s exhibition dedicated to Montina is a real event for fans of sports, art and good wine.

The relationship with Montina makes this exhibition truly unique, as it links in an extraordinary way two great sports clubs in Lombardy:AC Milan, of which Montina has been Official Sparkling Wine for nine seasons, and Pallacanestro Brescia, of which it has been a partner for several years. The works on display celebrate the athletes of both clubs with extreme attention to detail. Montina, together with these two prestigious teams, is the undisputed protagonist of a visual and conceptual combination that, through sport, highlights shared values such as sacrifice, dedication and teamwork, while celebrating the excellence of the product and the importance of the Franciacorta territory.

The artist’s caricatures, with their unmistakable strokes, enhance the personality and physical characteristics of the Rossoneri champions of the past and present, as well as those of the Brescia basketball players, transforming them into true pop icons. The exuberant expressions, athletic gestures and dynamic poses capture the moment and convey all the energy and passion that animate these athletes.

The exhibition is a true tribute to the territory of Brescia and Lombardy in general, which boasts a long sports and wine tradition. Through the striking caricatures on display, the passion for soccer, basketball and good wine is celebrated, values that unite people and create a strong sense of belonging.

The exhibition can be visited, with prior reservation, from November 9, 2024 to February 28, 2025.
