1987 Bottles for 40 Years of History: Montina’s Anniversary Cuvée
In 2027, Montina will celebrate its 40th anniversary, and we’ve chosen to mark this important milestone in the way that best represents us: by creating a unique Franciacorta that embodies our story, our vision, and the evolution of a territory we deeply love.
The project is both ambitious and fascinating: to craft a cuvée using ten historic vintages, carefully selected and aged on lees for up to 19 years. The result? A new release, produced in just 1987 bottles, a symbolic number recalling Montina’s founding year—1987.
A project of memory, experience, and future
For this celebratory cuvée, we didn’t simply select a special vintage. Instead, we reopened bottles from some of our finest harvests, returned them to tank, and gave them new life through a third fermentation. This is an artisanal, complex operation that requires skill, sensitivity, and respect for time.
The vintages involved are:
- Millesimato Brut 2005
- Riserva Baiana 2007
- Riserva Baiana 2008
- Millesimato Brut 2009
- Millesimato Brut 2011
- Riserva Baiana 2012
- Millesimato Brut 2015
- Millesimato Brut 2016
- Millesimato Brut 2018
- Riserva Baiana 2019
These Franciacorta wines, after long aging on lees, were disgorged and blended with the base wine from the most recent harvest—2024—to create a new cuvée: rich, layered, and deeply expressive. It will be bottled in May 2025, then undergo a second fermentation in bottle following the Metodo Franciacorta.
The bottles will rest on lees until 2027, when they will be disgorged and released to the public—ready to tell, sip after sip, a story of 40 years of passion, research, tradition, and innovation.
A tribute to our roots
Why 1987 bottles? Because Montina was born on April 28, 1987, thanks to the vision of the Bozza family, who turned a passion into a winemaking project now recognized both in Italy and abroad.
This cuvée is not just an exclusive product—it’s a liquid manifesto, capturing the meaning of time, patience, and artisanal knowledge handed down and reimagined over generations. It is also a way of looking to the future, with the same enthusiasm we had at the beginning—only now with 40 years of experience behind us.
A collector’s Franciacorta
The 1987 celebratory bottles will be individually numbered and housed in a special edition packaging, enhancing their symbolic and oenological value. They are designed for wine lovers seeking something rare, authentic, and unforgettable.
Stay tuned: in the coming months, we’ll share more about this special cuvée—the people who made it possible, the behind-the-scenes of the project, and how you can reserve your bottle.
