Recognized Excellence:
The Millesimato Brut 2019 awarded 5 grappoli by the Bibenda Guide
We are excited to announce that our Millesimato Brut 2019 has received the highest recognition from the Bibenda Guide: 5 grappoli. This prestigious award celebrates the excellence of Italian wines and represents a great achievement for us in Montina.
The Millesimato Brut 2019 was born from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, meticulously handpicked and softly pressed. After resting for four years on the lees, the result is a wine that fully expresses the quality and dedication we put everyday into our work.
The Millesimato:
Millésimé wines are not produced every year but only in particularly favorable vintages, like the excellent 2019 harvest in the Franciacorta region.
When we talk about a Millesimato, we refer to a wine that must contain at least 85% of grapes from the same year. In Montina’s case, the Millesimato 2019 was made with 100% grapes harvested during that vintage.
Grape Harvest 2019:
Despite the challenging weather and a late harvest, the 2019 vintage yielded grapes of great quality and aromatic complexity, thanks in part to the lower production that concentrated the plants resources into fewer, higher-quality clusters. The July rain helped balance the vines, ensuring healthy and well-balanced grapes. Moreover, hail damage was minimal, allowing for an overall positive and promising production with excellent potential for the wine’s quality.
Millesimato Brut 2019:
posed of 70% Chardonnay grapes, which provide finesse and elegance in every sip, and 30% Pinot Noir, which gives structure and greater longevity, our Millesimato is a Franciacorta of great balance. It is a Brut type, with 7 g/l of residual sugar.
On the nose, after 48 months of aging, complex and layered aromas emerge. In addition to white-fleshed fruit notes like apple and pear, hints of candied citrus, dried fruit (almond and hazelnut), and light nuances of toasted bread and brioche, typical of long contact with the lees, can be perceived. Tertiary scents include delicate notes of sweet spices and subtle touches of vanilla, adding depth and an enveloping aromatic finish.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with a perfect balance between freshness and softness, supported by pleasant sapidity and a fine, persistent perlage.
Montina Franciacorta Millesimato 2019 is perfect for pairing with flavorful dishes like a succulent Fiorentina steak or the traditional Brescian spit-roast, thanks to its structure that harmonizes with the complexity of the meat’s flavors.

This is not the first time Montina Franciacorta wines have received this prestigious recognition.
In 2023, the Millesimato Brut 2018 achieved the highest rating of 5 grappoli from the Bibenda Guide, a Millesimato of rare qualities made 100% from the 2018 harvest, one of the most exceptional in Franciacorta.
In 2024, our Riserva Quor Nature reached the same milestone. This Riserva is home for us: every detail, from the story behind its label to the six years of aging on the lees, contributes to creating an intense and welcoming Franciacorta, made from the soft pressing of grapes from our oldest vineyards.
The twenty-seventh edition of the Bibenda Guide, curated by the Italian Sommelier Association, has honored our Franciacorta among the great wines of Italy.
This recognition confirms our commitment to excellence and motivates us to continue working passionately in both the vineyard and the winery to always offer Franciacorta wines crafted to perfection.
