Seven type of Franciacorta

SEVEN WAYS TO SAY FRANCIACORTA

DO YOU PREFER THE DELICATE SATÈN, THE DRY AND DECISIVE EXTRA BRUT, OR ARE YOU CRAZY ABOUT THE SMOOTH DEMI SEC?

No worries, there’s a Montina Franciacorta for every palate and every occasion. The main differences between the various types of Franciacorta are related to the type of grapes used and the aging process, particularly the sugar dosage.

Satèn, like all our wines, comes from a strictly manual harvest and follows the classic Franciacorta method with a second fermentation in the bottle. The lower pressure gives it a more delicate and silky bubble. It is produced with only white Chardonnay grapes and has a creamy sip with toasted notes.

Brut

Brut is produced with the gentle pressing of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir grapes, coming from different vintages and vineyards, skillfully located in seven Franciacorta municipalities. The taste is fresh, with good acidity and notes of fresh fruit.

Extra Brut

Extra Brut has a low sugar dosage, making it very dry. The grapes used are the same varieties as in Brut, and the taste features citrus blossom notes. It is suitable for those who prefer a sharper and drier taste.

Millesimato Brut

Millésimé, produced only with grapes harvested from the best vintages and vineyards, must age for at least 40 months on the lees. It originates from a careful selection of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, followed by precise gentle pressing on the Marmonier Vertical Press. It is characterized by complexity and a long-lasting taste.

Rosé Demi Sec

Rosé Demi Sec has a sugar dosage of 33 grams per liter. Thanks to a short maceration on Pinot Noir skins, it is characterized by an enveloping aroma of wild strawberries. The taste is fresh and elegant, with notes of ripe red fruits.

Rosé Extra Brut

Rosé Extra Brut, particularly dry, is mostly obtained from Pinot Noir. Its classic gentle pressing and the right amount of skin maceration give it strength, complexity, and persistence. The taste has a pronounced freshness, a firm structure, and notes of red fruits.

Quor Riserva

Quor is a pure reserve produced exclusively with grapes harvested during the best vintages and selected from the oldest vineyards. It is created from the skillful blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir obtained through the gentle pressing of the Marmonier Vertical Press. It offers captivating aromas of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit and delicate toasty notes, with hints of honey. It is the quintessential Montina Franciacorta.
